Humidifiers

Specification

The unit is run by a specially designed ¾ HP high speed electric motor suitable for 400/440 v. 3 phase 50 cycles, A.C. supply. The humidifier throws approximately 2400 cfm.of air and evaporates up to 40 litres of water per hour.

Electric Connection

Each humidifier unit should be connected to the switch through a starter having thermal overload relay. The relay should be st at 1.2 amps. When started, the motor should run in a clockwise direction when viewed from the back or fan end of the motor. For better performance, the unit should be supplied with clean water at constant pressure which may anywhere between 10 & 35 lbs per sq. inch.

How It Operates

The motor is mounted horizontally, with the motor shaft extending through both ends of the housing. On one en of the shaft is a specially engineered fan: on the other is a disc which revolves with the motor shaft. Surrounding the disc are stainless steel teeth. Water is fed at constant pressure through the small copper tube onto the back surface of the fast rotating disc. Centrifugal force spreads it outward in thin film. Striking the teeth with terrific impact, the water is broken up into a very fine spray. The resulting fine mist is mixed with air stream produced by the fan and is completely evaporated.
